Dear, Beauty Magazine "What I Wish You Would Tell Women"

How to get a slimmer waist.  How to get the bubble butt.  Make him fall madly in love with you.  Hot body moves.  Make any man better in bed.  Toned Legs.  Get better hair.  8 hour diet.  Get the best abs ever.  These are just a few promises of popular magazines justified with the physical evidence of women with: flawless skin, perfect smiles, flowing hair, matching make-up, killer wardrobes, perfectly toned everything, confident eyes, bodies, beauty and attitude that would make most men crazy and most women feel just a little (maybe a lot) more body/hair/looks conscious.  Trust me, I am not anti-self improvement (I'm on a better fitness training regime now); but I am anti-self-evaluation based on a standard that finds its substance in subjective desires. So with that said...

Dear Beauty Magazines,
The next time you are in the board room perhaps considering what new, exciting, innovative cover and articles you can do-- try this.  Put on the cover a handful of regular women in their regular grind exhibiting a beauty that only pride in one's hard work can produce.  Put on the cover, "You are fearfully and wonderfully made."  Then put a major article in the magazine explaining how women are so much more than the "perfect figure" in the "perfect jeans."  Instead, explain how women are purposed and designed by God to be pillars of strength in their homes and communities.  Add how women are showing incredible strength in spiritual matters where their doctrine is meeting their daily grind.  Finally, do not forget to remind women that we are God's workmanship and that we bring Him the most honor through walking confidently in our womanhood, worth, and worship. Thank you beauty magazines for working to help me work on myself; I'm just the type of woman who is looking to get greater in all aspects of my life by using the standards my Creator made.
